Real‑time safe by rule
No allocation, no locks and no file access on the audio thread — enforced as a build discipline, not hoped for. Streaming, preset loading and export all happen off the thread that has to hit its deadline.
LANGSTON MASINGALE INDUSTRIES× COSMIC AUDIO LAB
A sixteen‑pad sampler, a slicer and a saturator — struck from the same gold.
Three plugins built the way hardware used to be built: one job each, no menus to dig through, and nothing on the audio thread that could ever make you miss a take.
01 THE SUITE
Load it, chop it, dirty it. Each plugin does one thing completely, and the three of them share a face, a preset language and a signal path, so moving between them costs you nothing.
I
The kit sampler
Sixteen pads, a different sample on every one, and a full voice behind each pad
instead of a shared one. Build a kit, save it as a .lux file, carry
it to the next session.
II
The chop shop
One sample in, sixteen playable slices out. Drop a break on it, set your markers, and the chops are under your fingers before you have finished listening back.
III
The saturator
Seven controls and a button called Punish. It puts weight on a drum bus, teeth on a sample, and hair on a vocal, and it gets out of the way when you turn it down.
02 HOW THEY ARE BUILT
The interesting decisions in a plugin are the ones you never see. These are ours.
No allocation, no locks and no file access on the audio thread — enforced as a build discipline, not hoped for. Streaming, preset loading and export all happen off the thread that has to hit its deadline.
Developer ID signing with hardened runtime, an Apple‑notarised installer that is stapled before it ships, and a Windows installer that puts the VST3 exactly where the spec says it goes. It installs and it opens. That is the whole story.
No telemetry, no analytics, no account needed to make a sound. Licences verify offline. The only thing these plugins ever ask the internet is whether a newer version exists — and you can dismiss that and never see it again.
One universal binary for Apple Silicon and Intel. A native 64‑bit build for Windows 10 and 11 with the runtime linked in, so there is no redistributable to chase before your session opens.
Sampling has never been about clean. It is about what a machine did to a sound on the way through, and whether you could get back there again tomorrow.
03 COMPATIBILITY
.lux kit files — portable between machines and platforms04 FIRST IN LINE
One email when the suite drops, and one more if there is a launch price. Nothing else, ever. No list swaps, no drip campaign, and one click to leave.
